Hi there, welcome to the admin life!

If you’re here, chances are you’re a small business owner looking for help. Usually, that means one of a few things… You’ve grown to a point where you can’t sustain everything on your own anymore. Or work has completely taken over your life, and you’re ready to actually live it again. Or you’re trying to grow, but you’re not sure what the next step is. Whatever brought you here, we’re really glad you found us and we hope you find exactly what you need to build what you’ve been working so hard for.

My name is Ali Hernandez, Founder and CEO of The Admin Life. A dream of mine is to help small business owners build dreams of their own. I’ve spent the last decade in the nonprofit and small business world, giving my time, energy, and attention to helping others succeed. And I can honestly say… there’s nothing more rewarding than watching someone step into the life they’ve been working toward, and knowing you played even a small part in it.

THE ADMIN LIFE

Years ago, after connecting with small business owners, opening businesses ourselves, and experiencing the highs and lows firsthand, we started to notice a pattern. We have spent our lives around small businesses, so we have seen what happens when they succeed - how it impacts families, communities, and the people around them. And we have seen what happens when they don’t. For many people, a small business is not just a job; it is their legacy, their dream, and their life.

At the same time, our roots were in the nonprofit world, where we spent years managing everything behind the scenes so teams could focus on what mattered most. We handled the operations, the finances, the marketing, the moving pieces that keep an organization running, so others could give their full attention to the mission. And we saw what happened when that support existed: More impact. More capacity. More lives changed. That is when it clicked.

 

Small business owners are facing the same challenge. Limited time. Limited budget. Too many hats. Trying to hold everything together while also trying to grow. And the statistics show that 49.5% of them fail in the first 5 years, often due to the basics of business management being left behind. Why? Because most business owners did not start their business to do admin work, manage finances, or figure out marketing. Yet, without those things, businesses eventually fail.

 

So The Admin Life was built to be that support. We step in to carry the operational load - the day-to-day work, the organization, the systems, the financial structure and marketing strategy. Not just to keep things afloat, but to create a business that actually works and supports sustainable growth. Because when the right person or team is in place to support your business, everything changes. You get your time back. You get clarity. And you get the ability to focus on what you actually do best. We believe in being as invested as an investor, as integrated as an employee, and as passionate as the owner, without needing something in return (beyond seeing your business succeed & your dreams become reality).

And the name, The Admin Life, started long before the business. It came from the small, behind-the-scenes moments. The random, messy, sometimes ridiculous parts of keeping things running. Ink on your face. Shredded paper in your pants (don't ask?). The kind of moments where all you can do is laugh and say, this is the admin life.

Our purpose is to help you fulfill yours. This sounds super deep and to be honest, for us, it is. Our top 3 reasons that we started this business are because (1) small businesses are the foundation of the United States economy and we want to help contribute in a massive way, (2) small businesses are what makes a local town/city so special, and (3) we LOVE to see others fulfill their dream, vision, purpose (whatever you want to call that big thing you’re working for or towards).

Running a small business is overwhelming and brings out a different level of crazy. We believe laughter is a form of medicine that lightens the load and fuels the motivation to keep going.

SUSTAINABILITY

Our goal is not to keep you as a client forever. Our goal is to help you build the foundational infrastructure needed for your business to sustain, grow, and scale when and how you desire. Like a house with a solid foundation - you may change up the house, remodel, repair, maintain, but a house with a strong foundation will allow you to do those things quicker, more simply, and for much cheaper than a house on an unstable foundation.
